Print after saving not working for me

In the Options > Print > have the following options
Print after saving is checked but not working for some reason.
Printer is "XYZ"
Query User is Off(Default)
Hide the progress during printing is unchecked
Duplex is unchecked
Other options that I have enabled are ... Auto-save.
Switched the Logging Option On and Viewed the Log, did not get any hints on why its not printing to the XYZ printer.
Any ideas on what should I look at next or try to find the problem.
My registry is set to the following

I'm also looking for a solution to this!
Can anyone help me about this?
Thank You
A complete solution for how to get here print out from their software is as follows
Hello,
I am not getting any solution for my problem. Help me please. Thank You
you need to install older ghostscript version 8.61 and choose this in pdfcreator-settings under ghostscript. for me that worked. thanks at dx80486
I have the same problem and tried out the older GS version (8.61). The result was I get a nice printout on any printer but emty PDF-Files (autosave for user unattended PDF creation and printing). So this seems to be no solution ?!
would be nice to solve this problem caus I know no other PDF tool, that tends to offer the possibility of pdf creation an printing at the same time! This function will be very interesting for document management and archiving and production of masses of printouts and pdf's (bills etc.)
I testet this problem with 0.9.9 and GS 8.7 (as with older ones!) and still this problem exists (Win XP SP3 as still used in most environments/companies because of special applications that are not jet approved to Win7!)!!!
and no solutions in sight ? any suggestions to solve this problem? Hope this is not a hopeless case! Thanx for any solution ;-)
I tried with multiple version of ghostscript, the ones mentioned on these forums as well and still no go. Below is an output from the log. Can anyone help?

There are so many different printers and drivers that it is hard to tell why it does not print.
I think it is best if you generate the postscript file from first. Then you execute the Ghostscript command and set the Output to PDFCreator with standard settings instead of your printer.
If it does not work you can post your Postscript file here and we can try out, if it works on our installations.
Thank you for the quick reply.
Well I have it set right now to auto save and open pdf. That works the pdf comes out properly. Then the ghostscript output gets stuck in the physical devices print queue for about 1-2 mins and disappears without a print.
Printer is HP P1006
Regarding your postscript method, can you give me a few more details on that.
You can stop searching because I have found the reason.
It also does not work for me (version 0.9.9), Win7 x64
The log for the normal PDF generation starts with:
-IE:\Program Files (x86)\PDFCreator\GS8.70\gs8.70\Lib\
-q
-dNOPAUSE
The log for the printing output starts with:
-IE:\Program Files (x86)\PDFCreator\GS8.70\gs8.70\Lib\;E:\Program Files (x86)\PDFCreator\Gs8.70\Fonts\;E:\Program Files (x86)\PDFCreator\GS8.70\gs8.70\Resource\
-q
-dNOPAUSE
The relevant part of the Error message is:
*** Warning: GenericResourceDir doesn't point to a valid resource directory.;
This is because after a new installation of PDFCreator 0.9.9 (did a complete deinstallation first and deleted the PDFCreator dir afterwards) there are only these directories in the Ghostscript dir:
E:\Program Files (x86)\PDFCreator\GS8.70
E:\Program Files (x86)\PDFCreator\GS8.70\gs8.70
E:\Program Files (x86)\PDFCreator\GS8.70\gs8.70\Bin
E:\Program Files (x86)\PDFCreator\GS8.70\gs8.70\Lib
Fonts and Resource do not exist.
These dirs are not used for normal pdf output, so creating the .pdf works.
Looking into the source I have found the following code:
CreatePDF:
Private Function CreatePDF(GSInputFile As String, ByVal GSOutputFile As String, Options As tOptions)
tStr = Options.DirectoryGhostscriptLibraries & GetGhostscriptResourceString
50070
50080 If LenB(LTrim(Options.AdditionalGhostscriptSearchpath)) > 0 Then
50090 tStr = tStr & ";" & LTrim(Options.AdditionalGhostscriptSearchpath)
50100 End If
50110 AddParams "-I" & tStr
50120 AddParams "-q"
50130 AddParams "-dNOPAUSE"
GetGhostscriptResourceString:
Public Function GetGhostscriptResourceString() As String
50010 Dim tStr As String
50020 If (GetGhostscriptVersion.Major < 8) Or (GetGhostscriptVersion.Major = 8 And GetGhostscriptVersion.Minor <= 62) Then
50030 If LenB(LTrim(Options.DirectoryGhostscriptFonts)) > 0 Then
50040 tStr = tStr & ";" & LTrim(Options.DirectoryGhostscriptFonts)
50050 End If
50060 If LenB(LTrim(Options.DirectoryGhostscriptResource)) > 0 Then
50070 tStr = tStr & ";" & LTrim(Options.DirectoryGhostscriptResource)
50080 End If
50090 End If
50100 GetGhostscriptResourceString = tStr
Font Directory and Resource Directory are only include in Ghostscript 8.61 and before (PDFCreator version <0.9.8 I think)
The code for Printing looks like this:
Public Sub CheckForPrintingAfterSaving(GSInputFile As String, Options As tOptions)
50110 tStr = Options.DirectoryGhostscriptLibraries & ";" & Options.DirectoryGhostscriptFonts
50120 If LenB(LTrim(Options.DirectoryGhostscriptResource)) > 0 Then
50130 tStr = tStr & ";" & LTrim(Options.DirectoryGhostscriptResource)
50140 End If
50150 If LenB(LTrim(Options.AdditionalGhostscriptSearchpath)) > 0 Then
50160 tStr = tStr & ";" & LTrim(Options.AdditionalGhostscriptSearchpath)
50170 End If
50180 AddParams "-I" & tStr
50190 AddParams "-q"
50200 AddParams "-dNOPAUSE"
Here they are always included, even if Ghostscript 8.64 or 8.70 is installed.
If I change the code in CheckForPrintingAfterSaving to call GetGhostscriptResourceString to pdf is printed on my Laser printer.
I got it working temporarily with version 9.5, thats the latest with the resource and fonts folders. But then it stopped working again.

@all
We have updated the setup with new languages and improved the print after saving. Please download it again (from here or from sourceforge) and check it out.

Ok Frank and all, dont know if it says anywhere how to configure this properly, but after further testing I noticed that if you check the box beside "hide the progress dialog during printing" then it doesnt print. Printing to a XPS document shows a blank file. The Ghostscript output in queue is always 1.47kb in size. Printing to any other printer also shows 1.47kb.
When removing this check box, the print goes through no problem. The size in queue is a lot larger as well. The XPS document shows the test page from PDFcreator.
No wonder it worked sometimes when I just installed. Because I didnt set it up fully and I always checked hide the progress bar...
This is under pdfcreator version 9.5 and now the most recent one currently 9.9
Question is, what does "hide the progress dialog during printing" have to do with printing after saving?
Any input would be appreciated.
Having the same trouble. Tried gs864 with fonts from gs861 - yep, it prints after saving, but some saved files have 4 kb in size and if opened they display nothing. The thing is that, for instance, if I print from Word 2010, saved file looks fine, however if I try to print a PDF file then saved file is empty and is of 4 kb in size.
hello all !
I can print after automatically saving the pdf, but when the pdf is print out, it is just black&white ... (settings from printer is color)
The PDF is automatically saved with color!
Has anyone the same kind of problem ? Maybe someone knows a work around ? I am using PDFCreator 0.9.9 with Windows XP Sp3.
Thank you for your help !
Nice greetings Alex
Black&White printing and the other problems are fixed in version 1.0.
Best regards,
